BlueSnap's Response to Current Sanctions

Update as of Thursday, March 31, 2022

We want to assure you we are continuing to monitor the Russia-Ukraine situation and are complying with all sanction rules.

Payment Processing

March 5-7, 2022, Visa, MasterCard and American Express announced they are not supporting any sales into Russia using foreign-issued cards. On March 14, 2022, BlueSnap suspended processing for impacted merchants so they will not incur authorization fees for declined transactions. Merchants still have access to the BlueSnap Merchant Portal.

Visa, Mastercard and American Express also blocked all transactions originating from cards issued in Russia beginning March 10, 2022. Therefore, sales and refund attempts on impacted cards are no longer possible.

Payouts

All payouts to sanctioned banks were immediately suspended.

We are actively monitoring the evolving sanctions landscape and will continue to provide updates and communicate new information as applicable. If you have any questions, please contact BlueSnap Support.
